Librarian tells us about the multiple library services there are in Helmet-libraries.
On Wednesday 1/10.2025 both YKI and KS visited the library in Kaunianen to learn about the Finnish libraries and the services they provide.
YKI (National Certificates of Language Proficiency) and KS (as a Christian in Finland) went on a trip to the library in Kauniainen, where we learned about the different services provided by HELMET (Helsinki Metropolitan Area Libraries) through their libraries located in Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen.

Despite of the relatively small rooms of the temporary library, there are a lot of books in different languages.

The students were told about the advantages of owning a library card and how to use it. The students were also introduced to the HELMET website (https://helmet.finna.fi/) where they were taught how to navigate it and potentially borrow books through it using the booking queue and search functions. The website also includes information about different events held at the different libraries as well as information about the books locations and the libraries themselves.

One can find many interesting books in different languages in Helmet-libraries.

Lastly the students were allowed to browse the library and even get their own library cards if they wished to do so.
