Finnish is a hard language, claim many people. It is a good question, how well one can learn Finnish in one year.

In the end of each year in our Finnish language course, As a Christian in Finland, we make short oral and written presentations about some of the important figures in the Finnish history. The presentations give a possibility to show one's oral and written skills in Finnish as well as what one has leaned about Finnish history.

This year one of our students, Adnan, chose to make a short video about Elias Lönnrot, collector of the Finnish national epic, Kalevala and significant developer of the Finnish language. In the video, Adnan tells about the life of Lönnrot from Lönnrot's point of view.

One might be surprised on the fluency of Adnan's Finnish and even more so, when one learns that he has only studied one year Finnish with us and lived in Finland less than a year.
