Visiting Finnish history in house museum Glims
Learning Finnish language is hard. Important thing in integration is however also learn about local culture and history. While our Finnish language courses include a series of Finnish history all the way from prehistoric times until the modern history, it also includes some field trips.
One great destination for learning about Finnish history and how did the people used to live until the 19th century in Espoo, is Glims, house museum located near to Jorvi hospital.
We visited the house museum Glims and got an excellent introduction to Finnish history and farming. There were several tools for different tasks on display weather it was about making textiles out of wool or cooking coffee.
Our field trip enjoyed a very nice weather, it was almost like summer. The environment of Glims was on its best: apple trees were blossoming and even the sheep and the hens were on the yard. Glims is definitely educational and beautiful destination to visit even with children. The museum also hosts working exhibitions where you can find out how the crafts were made in history.
Museum Glims is interesting destination. There is free entrance on Wednesdays. Check about the events, prices and everything else: https://www.espoo.fi/fi/talomuseo-glims
