Visiting Kauniainen church and learning about diaconia
As a part of our Finnish course we learn about Finnish culture and the role of the Church and Christianity in the history. The first lesson included the visit to the nearby Kauniainen Church, which is a modern church building and the main church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kauniainen.
As a part of same visit we also had an interesting lesson about diaconia, a Greek word meaning the help and service that the Church provides to those in need, such as the elderly, the poor, the lonely, the sick as well as for the immigrants.
