A part of our Finnish language and integration courses is to get to know the Finnish culture. This time we took a train from Kauniainen to Helsinki with our Finnish course students and went to see the National Gallery Ateneum.
Finnish Bible Institute (Suomen Raamattuopisto) organizes three-month-long Finnish courses for preparing to the National Certificate of Language Proficiency in Finnish, intermediate level. The courses are called YKI-training take place twice a year at spring and autumn semester. Due to the Easter holidays, the YKI-training ended on Maudi Thursday 29th of March. Congratulations for all the students!
On Maundy Thursday or on Holy Thursday we prepere for Easter holiday. The School will be off from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Blessed and peaceful Easter for all!
The course visited the library in Kauniainen. We had a lot of new information and there was a possibility to get a library card for those, who did not yet have one.
The aim of our immigrant courses is that everyone has a place to continue after the course, whether it is a further studying Finnish, going for a job or for a school for a degree. One good alternative is also to start your own business.
Some basic skills in first aid, such as resuscitation, dialing to emergency number and taking care of the fainted, the unconcious or the massive acute bleeding included to the course.
In the Finnish Bible Institute (address Helsingintie 10, Kauniainen) there are two week-long Finnish intensive courses in June.
Spring celebrations end the academic year and the semester in the Finnish Bible Institute
The last course week of our Finnish language and integration course started with fun visit from Kauniainen by train and ferry to the island of Suomenlinna, a 18th and 19th century sea fortress south from the center of Helsinki.
On Wednesday 18th of May we made a small trip from Kauniainen to Espoo by car. Only a few kilometers away is located the 19th century house and farm museum, Glims.
